The Counter Poaching Unit forms an integral part of the management team of Umbabat.
Gone are the days of Field Rangers focused on fauna and flora management. The war on poaching had changed the playing field, resulting in a militarised approach to managing the potential extinction of certain species such as Rhino and Pangolin.
Our outsourced Unit has team members who have been soldiers most of their adult lives, with experience fighting in places such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
We were very privileged to have the American actor, Rob Lowe, and his sons visiting our Unit during 2018.
